Making space..
Making space to write about my health and connect with other people that would like to discuss Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), disability, chronic illness and chronic pain.
I feel like some days I just feel like a regular 35 year old just getting by and doing the things I need to do.
Sometimes I feel like a terrible burden on friends and family because my body is utterly failing me and ruining my life.
Last night when R came home from work I just felt out of sorts, like I needed to eat but a snack didn't help. I had a bit of Gatorade but I didn't drink the whole thing because I am fluid restricted to 1.5 litres a day.
I made R drive me to the hospital, I went through ED (quickly! The perks of being a heart failure patient!) and they did all the tests and I was fine. A bit of low blood pressure (not unusual). I worked out that I possibly hadn't had enough to drink (I was quite fatigued and resting all day) and that I probably just needed a drink. I had been walking the day before and I did about 11,000+ steps and I didn't really adjust my fluids to make up for that. So I had three delicious cups of water (you don't understand! It was a delightful treat!) and improved and went home.
So I ruined our plans to go to trivia with friends and I also made us get home super late and we had to throw together some late dinner.
It is super important that I go to the hospital when I feel unwell and it's really the first time in a long time I have had to go to ED I just wish I'd snuck the rest of the Gatorade, to be honest.
Bye for now, R Xx
